What is Play Therapy?

A beginning level introduction to play therapy for mental health professionals and graduate students in a mental health program.

The presenters will review the requirements for becoming a registered play therapist™, give a historical overview of play therapy development and theories, and introduce the principles for working with children in play therapy. The therapeutic powers of play will be reviewed as participants work in small groups to describe and demonstrate the basic skill of tracking play in play therapy.
